Tarot

Tarot es una banda de heavy metal procedente de Finlandia, se hicieron famosa con la canción “Wings of Darkness” del álbum de 1986 Spell of Iron, son considerados los Padrinos del Heavy metal Finlandés, adquirió su éxito cuando Marco Hietala se une a Nightwish en el año 2002.

Historia

La banda se formó originalmente por los hermanos Hietala en los años 80,en ese entonces la banda se llamaba “Purgatory” luego les llegó el momento de firmar contrato con las discográficas King Foo Records y Spinefarm Records, desde aquel entonces la banda se cambió el nombre por Tarot.

El single Wings of Darkness da luz en 1986 y en ese mismo año lanzaron su primer álbum Spell of Iron de unos 39:44 de duración. Luego al año siguiente lanzaron su primer single Rose on the Grave.En 1988 sacan a la venta su segundo álbum Follow Me into Madness, luego la banda agrega un teclista Janne Tolsa fue el que sustituyo al segundo guitarrista Mako H. Después de cinco años sacan su tercer álbum To Live Forever, terminado en 1993. Tarot tuvo buena publicidad en Japón sacan su primer álbum en vivo grabado en el Tavastia Club Helsinki, afortunadamente algunas de las canciones del álbum en vivo fueron puesta a la venta el año próximo en una edición limitada con bonus en el CD de Stigmata.

La banda se tomó un descanso en el año 1998 sacan a la venta For The Glory of Nothing, el álbum copilado de Tarot que salió en Japón ese mismo año, después a la banda se le unió Janne Tolsa (teclista) reemplazando al segundo guitarrista Mako H.Mientras Tarot estuvo un tiempo inactivo mientras tanto Marco interpretó en Conquest y Sinergy el también se une a Nightwish en 2002. A finales del verano del 2002 Tarot hace un concierto especial de los años 80 tocando solamente los dos primeros álbumes.

Durante el año 2003 álbum copilado Shining Black lanzado otra vez en todo el mundo.Tarot firma nuevamente con Spinefarm Records y lanzan Suffer Our Pleasures.
